Reading strengthens a child’s network of knowledge, improves relationships, and improves literacy skills.
If you read to your preschool kids for 20 minutes a day, they will hear 1.8 million words a year. A result? On standardized tests they will likely score better than 90% of their peers.
Take a look at the infographic from Every Child Reads, which compares what happens if you read to your kids for 20, 5, and 1 minutes a day. And reading for just 5 minutes will make your kids score better in tests than half of their peers.
